What days are available for birthday parties?

Options in LOS ANGELES: Saturday or Sunday at 10:00 AM or 2:00 PM. Options in ORANGE COUNTY: Saturday or Sunday at 10:30 AM or 1:30 PM.

How long are the private room rentals for?

LOS ANGELES room rental: 3 (three) hours and an additional 30 minutes for setting up ORANGE COUNTY room rental: 2 (two) hours and an additional 30 minutes for setting up.

Does Discovery Cube provide a birthday cake?

We do not provide a cake, however, we can store your birthday cake for up to 24 hours in advance of your birthday party time slot.

Can I bring outside food and beverages for a birthday party?

At Discovery Cube Los Angeles , you may bring outside food and beverages. The items must remain in the birthday party room at all times and absolutely no alcohol is allowed . At Discovery Cube Orange County , you may not bring outside food and beverages. Catering offered for an additional price by our healthy and delicious on-site Bean Sprouts Cafe.

How many guests can attend my birthday party?

At Discovery Cube Los Angeles , each package includes 20 guests and you can add up to 30 additional guests for $7 each. No more than 50 guests are allowed per birthday party (not including the birthday child.) At Discovery Cube Orange County, each package includes 20 guests and you can add up to 26 additional guests in the Cube Room for $7 each.

Is admission into Discovery Cube also included in the birthday party experience?

Yes, every birthday party guest is granted entry to Discovery Cube for that day. The parent will need to provide a guest list at least 24 hours prior to the birthday party.

Is the security deposit refundable?

The security deposit is refundable until 7 days prior to the birthday party date. Within the 7 days, your deposit will be credited for a future date and must be used within 1 year.

Who is responsible for the children?

The parents/legal guardians are responsible for the children at all times.

Am I able to order catering delivery to Discovery Cube?

At Discovery Cube Los Angeles , you may order catering delivery however you must be onsite to receive it. Third party vendors are not allowed onsite. At Discovery Cube Orange County , you may not order catering delivery however you can place food & beverage orders for an additional price with our healthy and delicious on-site Bean Sprouts Cafe.

Can I arrive early to set up the birthday room?

Yes, you will have up to 30 minutes of setup time before the booked time slot.

Can I bring goodie bags and balloons?

Yes however these items are required to remain in the birthday party room at all times and the balloons must be filled with air and not helium.

As a Discovery Cube member, do I have to pay if I am a guest of the birthday party?

Yes. The $7 fee is exclusively applied to the birthday party experience.

Is there a fee for parking?

At Discovery Los Angeles , on-site parking is completely free for you and your guests. At Discovery Cube Orange County, there is a $6 parking fee for each vehicle.

Guests will become bubble experts and learn about the science of bubbles by creating their very own take-home bubble formula and bubble blowers.

Ice Cream-istry

Guests will get the chance to make homemade ice cream in a bag while learning about chemistry.

Glow in the Dark Slime

Guest will learn when two or more substances are combined and a new substance may be formed, and how phosphor makes slime glow in the dark.

Clothespin Race Cars

Each child will use a clothespin and other provided materials (ex. Buttons, straws, toothpicks, clay) to build a race car. They will test their race cars on a wooden ramp and make changes to the cars in order to get to the car to roll as smoothly as possible. The science behind this demonstration is focused on friction.

Galaxy in a Jar

Each child will use a jar, cotton balls, glitter paint, and stickers to create a nebula (galaxy) in a jar. The science behind this demonstration is discussing how stars are made and the different elements that are present in a nebula.
